January 2012-August 2014Shipdock Harlingen (Damen ship repair and conversion) As Project Manager I took care of the preparation, execution and realization of projects concerning shiprepair, conversion and maintenance. An optimal commercial result was of utmost importance In consultation with internal and external parties I proposed a project- and detail planning and monitored them to check if the agreed planning is followed up. I informed the client about the progress of the project and recorded this for the purpose of planning and budgetary control. During the project deadlines were monitored and quality control was carried out. Typical projects were regular maintenance, repairs and conversions to a diversity of ships such as; cargo ships, off-shore vessels, cable laying vessels, dredgers, pontoons, ferries, super yachts, etc. Mainly multiple projects were carried out at the same time. January 2010-January 2012 Jan de Nul With Jan de Nul I was working as 1st engineer on the Fall pipe and Mining vessel “Simon Stevin”. This high tech ship was mainly used for off-shore projects around the globe and was equipped with a DP-2 system. My main tasks consisted of monitoring and maintaining all technical systems on board.. All was carried out in accordance with the high standards which are present in the off-shore industry. I was involved with this vessel from new building in January 2010 September 2001-December 2009 Stolt Tankers b.v. Working as an engineer for a world leader in the transportation of chemicals in bulk, I worked on a variety of ships within this fleet. From conventional ships to the latest diesel electric ships and from ‘deep-sea’ to ‘short-sea’. I started as a Junior 4th Engineer and climbed the ranks up to 2nd engineer and gained experience and knowledge of all systems and maintenance systems which are present in modern shipping. My main tasks on board was the daily management of the engine room and planning and preparation of required maintenance.
